Jessie Baylin ‘Hurry, Hurry’ Song Premiere

True, singer-songwriter Jessie Baylin is married to Kings of Leon’s Nathan Followill, and while Followill may rightfully be celebrating the enormous success his band has experienced this year, it’s obvious who’s boss after one listen to Baylin’s ‘Hurry, Hurry.’ She simply owns house on this recording.

“‘Hurry Hurry’ was the first song we finished, and it really set the tone for the rest of the sessions,” Baylin tells Spinner. “It became the inspiration for the album — the song arrangement, the orchestral arrangement. We felt a mood was created. We felt we really hit on something special. ‘Hurry Hurry’ became the benchmark to hit for all the other songs. They had to be this good or we’d go back to the drawing board.” Full Story at Spinner

The Charlatans’ Drummer Jon Brookes Diagnosed With Brain Tumor

The Charlatans have confirmed drummer Jon Brookes has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

As previously reported by Spinner, Brookes collapsed and stopped breathing during a show in Philadelphia last week (Sept. 15). After receiving treatment in the US, he returned to the UK where the diagnosis was made, the BBC reports.

A representative for the band, which earlier this year celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut album, ‘Some Friendly,’ said, “The Charlatans’ drummer Jon Brookes is currently undergoing treatment in the UK for a brain tumor following the postponement of the remaining dates of Charlatans’ North American tour. The band and Jon would like to thank all well wishers for their kind messages of support.” Full Story at Spinner
