Eminem Released The First Song From His Upcoming Album!

Eminem has released the first song from his upcoming `Recovery` album. The song is `Not Afraid`.

‘Not Afraid’ is the first single from ‘Recovery’, the replacement album for the dumped ‘Relapse 2’.

‘Relapse’ was released a year ago with the plan to release the second album not long after. After numerous delays in releasing part 2, Eminem decided to go with ‘Recovery’ instead.

“I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year,” remarked Eminem. “But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.”

‘Recovery’ features first time Eminem collaborators DJ Khalil, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin and Boi-1da. Full Story at Undercover

Foo Fighters Promise New Album For 2011!

The Foo Fighters have 15 songs written for their next record, but don’t expect a new album to drop this year. “It’s definitely in the fetal stages,” drummer Taylor Hawkins tells Spinner.

“In all honesty, Dave’s got 15 or so song ideas that are awesome and we’ve already demoed some of them twice even,” he adds of Foo frontman Dave Grohl. “We do a lot of demoing to find exactly the arrangements we want, getting them exactly how we want them. It’s a large process for us. It takes a long time to do it. We don’t just say, ‘OK, let’s go make a record and pop in the studio and record it just like that.’ There’s a lot of preproduction that goes into making a Foo Fighter record. Well, so far.” Full Story at Spinner

Suge Knight Sues Kanye West for $1 Million

One of hip-hop’s most notorious characters is suing rapper Kanye West and a Miami nightclub for injuries sustained in a shooting five years ago. Marion “Suge” Knight, founder of Death Row Records, was shot in August 2005 at a party hosted by West at the Shore Club.

No one has ever been arrested in connection with the attack, which left Knight with a shattered femur and more than $200,000 (£131,570) in medical bills, according to his lawyer. He also apparently lost an, er, earring. Attorney Marc Brumer claims West and the Miami Beach nightclub provided insufficient security for the event, held before the MTV video music awards and attended by stars such as Jessica Alba and the Black Eyed Peas. Knight is seeking damages “well over” $1m.

“[Knight] is an icon in the music industry,” Brumer told the court. “He walks in a room and he lights it up. He had an expectation of security there. How someone came with a gun into a VIP party, that just doesn’t meet the smell test in life.” Full Story at Guardian

Common Recording New Album With Kanye, No I.D.

Common is back in the studio cooking up his next album with producers Kanye West and No I.D., the rapper announced today. He described the project, tentatively titled “The Believer,” as “soulful hip-hop.”

“It’s ‘good’ music,” he said. “The themes are street music and elevation, things that I feel like I always embody when I rap. But here there’s new situations, new solutions.”

As far as production goes, Common says he’s working with No I.D. and Kanye West, both of which have produced a couple of his previous albums — “Be” and “Finding Forever,” “Resurrection” and “One Day It’ll All Make Sense” respectively.

“I’m striving to get it out in the fall,” he said, adding that fans can expect a single by late summer or early fall. Full Story at Billboard
